Use the Wub Machine
The Wub Machine is a synth specially made for dirty monophonic leads and basses. The signature wobbling sound is perfect for dubstep and drum n bass.
Type: You can choose between three different waveforms for the two first oscillators. The waveforms are triangle, saw, and square.
Pitch: Use this knob to adjust the pitch of each oscillator in a range of -24 to +24 semitones.
Gain: Use this knob to adjust the individual volume of each oscillator. Shape: This knob will adjust the shape of the waveform. Turning it up will introduce more harmonics and make it sound thinner.
Glide: Turning up the glide will make the pitch transition between two notes longer.
Pan: This slider will adjust the pan position of the oscillators. You could pan one to the left and one to the right for a wide sound.
Reese: Activating reese results in a constant modulating sound between the two oscillators.
Analog Filter Section
Type: There are five different types of filters to choose from: low pass, high pass, peak, notch, and bandpass. These will cut the frequencies in different ways.
Cutoff: This knob will set the cutoff point of the filter.
Res: This governs how much resonance will occur alongside attenuation giving a “ringing” feel to the sound.
Drive: Turn this knob to drive the filter with a higher gain.
LFO stands for a low frequency oscillator. In a synth, the oscillators are the sound makers. An LFO, however, is inaudible and is meant to automate other settings. In this case, it’s automating the filter cutoff.
Type: This lets you pick the waveform shape of the LFO. There are five types: sine, triangle, sawtooth (negative ramp), sawtooth (positive ramp), and square.
Speed: This knob sets the speed of the LFO.
Depth: This knob controls how much the LFO should affect the movement of the filter cutoff.
Phase: Adjust the starting position of the LFO waveform.
Key Tr: Turning up key tracking will set the speed of the LFO to your keyboard. The LFO will be played faster for higher notes and slower for lower notes.
Retrigger: Activating this will restart the LFO for every new note.
Loop: When activated, the LFO will be looped. If deactivated it will only play once.
M.S.L. / Filth / Unison
M.S.L. will add compression and make it sound more aggressive and in-your-face.
Filth will make it sound dirtier by adding harmonics. Activate it and turn up the amount.
Unison will make the synth fatter by adding more voices and detuning them slightly from each other. Activate it, choose how many voices with count and turn up the amount.
